BCCI reminds IPL spectators of FIFA guidelines on political slogans at sporting events

• The IPL is being played in its old format, with teams getting to play 7 matches at their home ground

After a long time, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is again being played in its old format in which the team will get a chance to play 7 matches at their home ground as well. Meanwhile, in the matches played in Delhi, Mohali, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, a special warning has also been issued for the spectators who go to the stadium and enjoy the match.

During matches in these 4 cities, spectators will not be allowed to carry posters against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) into the stadium. According to reports regarding this order, it would be taken in consultation with the ticketing partner of the franchise regarding their home matches. However, this is only done in consultation with the BCCI, in which no posters with political or other themes are allowed to be waved on the ground during any sporting event.
